I played with him about 5 years ago. His set was great, but the highlight of the evening was when he came into my band's dressing room and shot the shit with us for a half hour. He was hilarious and he could not sit still.

great. cool story, cool band, cool new guitar player. i saw kid congo with the cramps at the roxy in LA. early 80s. was a historic moment of my youth, never to be forgotten.

Power Pop is probably my favorite genre. How can you go wrong with insanely tuneful three minute songs that you can't stop humming in your head?

Excellent interview. Paul sounds very grounded and wise. Love his work.

Genius lyric. "Plaid perfume on my breath." Genius. Who writes that well? X does! For corroboration, give 'The World's a Mess...' a spin or six. "No one is united, and all things are untied." I'd swap a kidney for the skill to write that well.
